St. Patrick’s Day is almost here! Get ready to celebrate with a fun adult milkshake. Minty, chocolate and a little booze is just what this Irish girl needs to get me in the mood for St. Patty’s!
Since I’m in Florida for the next few days, I’ve got a very special guest taking over my blog while I’m gone…
Hello all! My name is Carrie, & I am happy to be hanging out at The Tasty Fork just for today sharing my delicious recipe for a grown-ups only milkshake perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.
But first let me say hello and tell you a little about myself and my blog…
I have been blogging over at Frugal Foodie Mama since January of 2011. Most often you will find me there sharing my favorite recipes, my antics as a stay-at-home mama to a toddler and a teenager, & my tips for how I have managed to remain a foodie on our single income budget.
I also have a niche for creating fun cocktails (I blame that on my years as a server & bartender back in the day), and for finding fun ways to bake and cook with booze. I enjoy it so much so that myself and another food blogger started a Spiked! Recipe Challenge last year. (Be sure you pop on over & check the challenge out! We are hosting our next recipe challenge in April.)
Now let’s get back to that adult milkshake, shall we?
Mudslides have to be one of my favorite frozen adult treats. Traditionally frozen mudslides are made with vanilla ice cream, but I wanted to give this spiked milkshake a St. Patrick’s Day twist by using mint chocolate chip ice cream instead.
I also gave it a little extra chocolate kick by using chocolate vodka instead of plain vodka.
This Green Mint Chip Mudslide is green, Irish (ahem… Bailey’s), and creamy & delicious… Much better than doing shots of whiskey if you ask me…
- 3 scoops of your favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream, slightly softened
- 1/2 oz (approx 1/3 of a shot glass) of chocolate vodka
- 1/2 oz of Kahlua (coffee flavored liqueur)
- 1/2 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream
- 1/3 cup milk
- Whipped cream & chocolate sprinkles, for topping (optional)
A BIG thanks to Meghan for having me over today! I hope you all have a tasty and safe St. Patrick’s Day this year!
