My husband is starting to think I have some kind of pumpkin problem. Last week, I made two loaves of pumpkin pie bread. It was gone in just a few days between the two of us. I stocked up on pumpkin coffee, pumpkin spice creamer and pumpkin M&M’s during my last Target run. I’ve been pinning pumpkin recipes like it’s my job…. (which I guess part of it is!) Jim is eagerly waiting for the next seasonal craze to arrive. We’re only half way into September and already over it.

Well, not me! I’m gonna ride this pumpkin obsession out until I can’t even look at another can of pumpkin puree. This Guilt Free Pumpkin Pie Smoothie tastes just like pumpkin pie. By using clean ingredients, you can totally lick the blender so you get every last drop. (if you’re into that kind of thing.)

The secret ingredient that really gives the pumpkin pie taste without all of the sugar is to use pitted dates! Trust me on this one. When I was developing this recipe, I couldn’t find the right ingredient to give me the true taste of pumpkin pie. I had some Medjool Dates and thought to myself  – this could be a winner. And I was totally right!! I love having this Pumpkin Pie Smoothie for breakfast but it could be a fun family snack or a healthy dessert.

Guilt Free Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almond milk, unsweetened vanilla
  • 6 oz Chobani Greek Yogurt, Vanilla
  • 7 oz canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • Honey, one good squeeze
  • 3 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 6 Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in the blender. Blend until smooth. Recipe makes 3 cups.

      Hi Jackie, I usually do about a cup per person…. but if I’m really hungry, I’ll do 1.5 cups per person
