I attended the BlogHer’13 conference last month and one of the most enjoyable events was an afternoon picnic with Walgreens, UpMarket:Fresh and Danni Allen from the Biggest Loser.
It started off with a trolley ride to Belmont Harbor.
On the trolley trip, Danni was telling us all about her Biggest Loser experience, what her life is like now and finding a healthy balance. She’s a Chicago girl, so we talked about the great food scene and how it can be hard to eat right when traveling.
Walgreens stores across the country are stepping up their game by having real, fresh food available. One of the flagship stores is by my house and you can get anything from sushi to frozen yogurt. (And it’s good!!) Walgreens and Upmarket:Fresh have teamed up and have an awesome bus touring the country. It’s called the Fresh Bus and you can track where they will be on Twitter.
The Fresh Bus is pretty awesome! At our picnic, we were welcomed with freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. When we stepped onto the bus, we got frozen yogurt and there was a toppings bar. (my favorites were all there!) They even had coffee, lattes and cappuccinos.
If you live in Chicago, you’re in luck to have your own Fresh Bus experience. For the next two week, the Fresh Bus will be in the area, handing out free samples of the same things I tried. You can follow the Fresh Bus on twitter @upmarketfresh.
If you don’t live in Chicago but want to try the fresh food now at Walgreens, I totally have you covered! I’m giving away a $50 Walgreens Gift Card to one lucky reader. Let me know what kind of fresh foods keep you going all day! Good Luck!!
